Description

Blizzard is a high-yielding, medium-maturing annual tetraploid ryegrass, which produces an abundance of high-quality, highly palatable forage through the winter and spring. It is characterized by its large dark green leaves with a semi-erect growth habit, medium maturity with good early vigor, and rapid re-growth after grazing. Like other tetraploids, Blizzard has shown to be higher in water-soluble carbohydrates which improves animal consumption by 3-5%.

With outstanding forage production coupled with excellent rust resistance and medium maturity, Blizzard is an outstanding choice for inter-seeding in bermudagrass or other permanent pastures throughout the south.
